Honduras Mission Trip 2008
What a day. The day started out very early where we all met at the airport at 5:00 am. I said a special thank-you to God all day because he got 20 people throught security at the US airports and customs in Honduras with very little problems and a lot of speed. It was unbelievable how much luggage and medicine we had. On arriving in Honduras, I was amazed at the amount of fruit being grown here. We saw bananas, mangos, coconuts, and many others that I did not recognize. Another interesting note is the transportation. Everywhere we go, we all pile into a bus ( it feels like we are trying to see how many we can squeeze in a telephone booth). What a beautiful country! We drove 2.5 hours from San Pedro Sula to Siquatepeque to where the hotel is. On Sunday after arriving at the hotel we quickly changed and drove another 45 minutes to our first meeting and what a fantastic job Pastor Cerna and John are doing. As we arrived we saw about 200 people singing songs in Spanish at the top of their lungs. Then we were introduced and John Started a 15 minute message on health. Pastor Cerna then got up and preached a powerful sermon on the cross. I only wish everybody reading this could have heard. By then it was very late and we had to drive another 45 minutes back. Needless to say we very quickly found our beds for a few hours of much needed sleep. What a day. Here are some pictures below. Did I say it is a beautiful country. God Bless you and I will try to keep updating this daily.
